השלט שהוצב בכניסה בצד המזרחי של המרכז ממחיש את התיקוות של כולנו לעתיד - הרחבת תשתית המרכז לכלבי נחייה. בתוכנית כלבייה חדשה המסוגלת להכיל את המספר ההולך וגדל של כלבים באימון, שיפוץ הבית שעומד על המגרש, ותוספת עוד תשתיות ותוכנית נוף המקשר את החלקה החדשה למרכז הקיים.
עוד תקוות לעתיד הן הגורים שלנו. בחודש אוקטובר נולד עוד שגר של גורים, ויש עוד בדרך בחודש הבא. בתמונה רואים את שלושת מנהלי ארגוני הידידים שלנו באתר הבנייה העתידי, מחזיקים גורים: מייק לבנתאל (ארה"ב), מרטין סיגל (אנגליה) ושרה גבריאל (קנדה) שביקרו במרכז לסמינר ידידים באוקטובר. צילום: אלי בן בוחר
עוד בחדשות, השבוע סיימו קורס לקבלת כלב נחייה ארבע מודרכים חדשים בקורס במרכז ועוד שני מודרכים מנוסים, המחליפים כלבים. אנו מאחלים הצלחה לכל הצמדים החדשים!
The sign that now stands at the eastern side of the entrance to the Center expresses our hopes for the future – the expansion of the facilities of the Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind. The plan for the new facilities includes a new kennel that will be able to hold the larger number of dogs in training, renovation of the house that presently stands on the site, and additional infrastructures and landscaping that will join the new facilities with the present center.
Another symbol of our hopes for the future are none other than our puppies! This month another litter was born, and there is another one on the way! The photo, taken by Eli Ben Boher, shows the three directors of our Friends' Organizations abroad holding puppies – Mike Leventhal (U.S.), Martin Segal (Great Britain) and Sara Gabriel (Canada), who visited the Center for the Friends' Seminar in October.
In other news, this week four new clients completed a course and returned home with their new guide dogs, and two experienced clients completed their training at home with replacement dogs. We wish the best of luck and success to all six new guide dog teams!
