הקשר בין הידידים שלנו בבריטניה שוב בא לידי ביטוי ביום שני, 17 לאוגוסט כאשר הרב אפרים מרביס, הרב הראשי של אנגליה, הגיע עם משפחתו לביקור. הרב נכנס לתפקיד בחודש פברואר 2013 ופגש את דניס אלון וברכה בן אברהם שהגיעו אז לביקור ראשון בלונדון. הרב, שהוא בעצמו אדם עם לקות ראייה, הביע המון תמיכה ואהבה למרכז והבטיח להפיץ מידע על המרכז בקרב הקהילה היהודית באנגליה. את הביקור של הרב ליוו מרטין סיגל, יו"ר ארגון הידידים באנגליה, נח, דניס, וברכה.
השבוע הגיעו גם למרכז משפחת כהן ממונטריאול שבתם שרה חוגגת בת מצווה ועובדת על פרויקט לגיוס משאבים למרכז. באותו היום הגיע גם הרב אלפר ממדינת וורמונט, שחיתן את נח ואורנה כשהם היו בארצות הברית. למרות החום של קרוב ל-40 מעלות האורחים סיירו בכלבייה ובבית הגורים.
בשבוע הבא המרכז יוצא לשבוע דממה. חופשה נעימה לכולם!
Last Monday, August 17th was a day in which we once more enjoyed the close contact between the IGDCB and its friends in Great Britain. The Head Rabbi of Great Britain, Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, visited and toured the center with his family, accompanied by Martin Segal, Director of the British Friends, Noach, Dennis, and Bracha. The rabbi, who is a person with low vision, expressed solidarity and identification with the center and its work, and promised to increase awareness of the center among the Jewish community in England.
Other guests at the center this week included the Cohen family from Montreal, whose daughter Sara is celebrating her Bat Mitzvah and working on a project to raise funds for the center. The same day Noach hosted Rabbi Bob Alper, an old friend who married Noach and Orna during the time they spent in the United States. Despite the 40-degree temperatures, everyone toured the kennels and puppy house.
Next week, August 23-29t the Center will be closed. We wish everyone a pleasant vacation!
