Hilla Ben-Meir has been an apprentice instructor at the Center since September, and is training her first class of dogs with Roee Rosen, who is her instructor. She and Roee will select a group of qualified dogs for the next course, which will begin March 1st. Hilla will help on the course as an observer, since this is her first class of dogs and instruction course. "Roee and I work together and I'm also receiving lectures from Rafi about training dogs and instruction of blind clients. I really enjoy my work with the dogs and it's wonderful to see their progress. Roee is an extremely professional instructor and I'm learning a lot from him and we are getting great results." Before joining the staff at the Center, Hilla worked with horses and instructed blind riders. "I think my former work will help a lot. Communication with animals is very similar even if we are talking about different animals. One day I hope to own a horse, and teach it using the clicker technique." Hilla feels extremely attached to the group of dogs she is training together with Roee. "When I arrive in the morning they're excited to see me and it's very rewarding. There's nothing more rewarding." What lies ahead? After the course in March a new class of dogs will arrive from their adoptive families, and Hilla will begin training them. "I'm happy working at the Center," she reports. "הם מאד מתרגשים לראות אותי כשאני מגיעה, וזה מאד מרגש. אין דבר יותר מרגש מזה." מהו השלב הבא בלמידה של הילה? אחרי הקורס של מרץ תגיע עוד קבוצת כלבים ממשפחות האומנות שלהם, והילה ורועי יתחילו לאמן עוד מחזור. המחזור הזה יהיה מוכן להיצמד לעיוורים בחודשי הסתיו של 2015. בינתיים זה נראה רחוק. "אני מאד שמחה בעבודה שלי כאן. המטרות של המרכז הן גדולות וחשובות."
