This week the center was full of visitors from Israel, the United States, and Canada! As the May course enters its second and final week with three new graduates, a group of students from Solomon Shechter School arrived at the center for a tour. The students arrived in Israel one week ago, and brought two guide dog puppies who were raised by Bar Mitzvah students in New York - Easton and Dottie - with them on the plane. The students continued their special ties with the Center as they toured the campus, kennels, and puppy house, during which several expressed their longing to "take one home with them." Later that same day Galia Kuts, her Daughter Ariela and their extended families from Israel and Toronto arrived at the center for a tour in honor of Ariela's Bat Mitzvah. The children particularly enjoyed romping with the dogs in the kennels that were not out on training walks at the time, and walked through the "sensory path" blindfolded to understand the use of other senses in addition to vision. . The family concluded their visit by presenting a generous check to Bracha - a donation that Ariela mobilized for the center iduring her Bat Mitzvah project. We hope these friendships will continue and that we will see more of all of our guests in the future! Photo shows the students from SOlomon Shechter on their tour of the center. And here's a relaxing idea - T Touch! T Touch, also known as the Tellington Touch, is a method of circular massage and body wraps to help relax companion animals and eliminate undesirable behavior. Dana and Hilla attended a seminar on the Tellington touch method, and brought back another tool for working with out dogs. The photo shows the students from SOlomon Shechter School at the Center.
השבוע המרכז קיבל מבקרים רבים הארץ, ארצות הברית, וקנדה. במשך השבוע כשהקורס של מאי נכנס לשבוע השני, הגיעה קבוצת תלמידי תיכון מבית ספר סולומון שכטר בארצות הברית. התלמידים נמצאים בסיור בארץ כבר 10 ימים, והגיעו בטיסת אל על יחד עם שני גורי נחייה שגידלו שני תלמידי בר מצווה בניו יורק - איסטון ודוטי. התלמידים נהנו מאד בסיור בקמפוס,התפלאו משני השגרים בבית הגורים, ואיימו לקחת אחד הבייתה יחד איתם! יותר מאוחר באותו היום הגיעה משפחת קוטס עם תלמידת בת המצווה, אריאלה, שסיימה פרוייקט גיוס משאבים למרכז. המשפחה סיירה בקמפוס יחד עם ליסה וברכה, והלכו בשביל החושים ליד בריכת הדגים וגינת התבלינים כשהילדים הולכים בכיסוי עיניים כדי להמחיש כיצד אפשר להשתמש בחושים נוספים מלבד הראייה. בסיום הסיור אריאלה העבירה לברכה צ'ק נדיב של הכספים שהיא גייסה למאן המרכז בפרוייקט בת המצווה שלה. . והנה רעיון מרגיע - טי טאצ'! טי טאצ' , או טלינגטוון טאצ' היא שיטת עיסוי מעגלי וחבישת הגוף לבעלי חיים אשר מרגיעה ומדכא התנהגות לא רצוייה. בשבוע שעבר יצאו שתי המאמנות שלנו דנה והילה ליום עיון בנושא, וחזרו עם שיטות חדשות שאולי ניתן ליישם על הכלבים שלנו. בתמונה רואים את קבוצת התלמידים מבית ספר סולומון שכטר בסיור במרכז.
