Many of the dogs who don't qualify as guide dogs are given to families with children who have special needs. Even though they are not able to qualify as guide dogs, they are, nevertheless, valuable and intelligent dogs, who are extremely responsive to human needs. Dona is one of these dogs. She was adopted by the Madmoni family from Yokne'am Elite whose daughter Tomm has CP as well as a visual disability. Here is their moving and exciting letter: Last month we adopted Dona, a guide dog that was raised at the Center. Since then there has been an amazing positive change in our home. A wonderful lovely animal has entered our lives, and has swept all of us off our feet. Everyone chips in to care for her and clean her, to feed her and play with her. Dona entertains us and makes us laugh. The girls take her out for walks and brush her fur. They have shown commitment and responsibility towards her. I am so thrilled with the process, and want to share it with you. Thanks from all of us!
